How to Download Videos from Sora to Device

Sora is OpenAI's video generation model, designed to take text, image, and video inputs and generate a new video as an output. The best part of sora is that if you have subscribed to ChatGPT Plus or Pro plans, you can start generating videos and even download them with no special subscription required.

Although, to download your own created videos on Sora is always easy. With just few clicks, you can have them downloaded on your device.

However, to download videos created by others in the explore section of sora is always tricky and that’s why we compiled this article to show you to easily download videos from your library and offer workarounds for saving Explore section content as well.

Downloading Videos from your Sora

From Library

Like I said earlier, downloading videos from Sora Library is always easy. The videos available in the library are contents generated by yourself. So, you can simply navigate through the “Library section” >> “open the video you want to download” >> “click on Download” on the Sore’s website.

However, do note that videos downloaded from the Library will include a watermark in the bottom-right corner if you are using a ChatGPT Plus subscription. In other words, to download videos without a watermark, you’ll need a ChatGPT Pro subscription, which costs about $200 per month.

From Explore Section

Unlike downloads from your Library, videos in the Explore section does not have a direct way to save them on your device. However, there are two working methods you can explore to download these videos; using the re-cut or remix option and recording your screen while playing the videos.

How to Re-cut and Remix on Sora’s Explore Section

To re-cut video in Explore section of Sora, open the particular video in “Explore (feature or recent)”, click on “re-cut or remix” option. Re-cut or remix according to your preferences and then click “Create”.

Once you’re done remixing or re-cutting the video, the video will be saved to your Library. You can then navigate to your Sora Library, follow the Library download method to save the video to your computer.

How to Screen Record Sora Videos

Screen recording videos in the Explore section is another way to save your wanted videos on your device from Sora. Most smartphones and computers come with built-in screen recording tools that make this process easy.

So, if you don’t want to use up your monthly quota for regenerating videos, your only option is to screen-record the video while playing it on the Sora’s Explore section. To do just that;

Open the video in the Explore section >> start screen recording (Command + Shift + 5 on Mac or Windows + Alt + R) >> play the video and let it record fully >> stop the recording and save the file.

Meanwhile, do note that this method might result in lower quality videos. But it’s another and most easiest method to save videos directly from Sora’s Explore section.
