How to Delete Temu Account
Admitted! So far, Temu has been an amazing e-commerce website. The company is based in Boston Massachusetts USA but 90% of its products are shipped from China. Being a Chinese-owned company, many Americans are worried that the site doesn’t protect their personal information as much as it should.
In fact, the site has been accused of using forced labor to produce most of its products in China. In addition to that, many shoppers of the site believe that Temu spies on them through the in-app browser and that the spyware tracks their offsite behavior and records sensitive data like banking information, Social Security numbers, and mailing addresses.
Although, Temu stated in it privacy policy page that it doesn’t sell user’s information, though it may share your information with various third-parties to provide better service. With that being said, if you’re concerned about your personal data, the best thing to do is to stop using the app and permanently delete your Temu account.
Temu has guidelines in place for users who which to delete their account. And in this article, we are going to simplify the process for you. More so, you should know that deleting your Temu account automatically deletes all your information on the site and it backend data base. So, deleted account cannot be recovered.
How to permanently delete Temu account
There are two ways to permanently delete your Temu account and remove your personal data on the database; deleting via temu.com and deleting via Temu App.
Delete Temu account via app
- Login to your account via “Temu app” and click on your “profile”.
- Under your profile, scroll down and click on “settings” then “account security”.
- Scroll down the “account security” page and click on “delete your Temu account”.
- To permanently delete the account, check in “I want to permanently delete my Temu account and all its data”.
- Click on “continue” and choose why you want to delete your Temu App. You can choose “I don’t want to provide a reason” if you definitely don’t want to give any reason.
- A one-time password (OTP) will be sent to your registered email address. Confirm the OTP to authorize your actions.
Once the code is confirmed, you will be automatically logged out of the account and Temu will have your account and all its data deleted on its database forever.
Delete your account on Temu.com
If you don’t have the Temu App, you can also delete your Temu account and all its data on the e-commerce website. Here’s how;
- Open your device’s browser and input https://temu.com in the browser’s address bar.
- Tap on your profile >> account security >> delete your Temu account.
- Choose to delete your account permanently and select reason for your account.
- Confirm the OTP sent to your email and your account and all its data will be deleted permanently in the next seven days.
However, if you have a change of mind to use Temu again, you can simply login to the account with your username and password or Google account to cancel the deletion before the deadline. After the deadline, you will only have the option to register a new account.
